Every year I round up my favorite books of the year. My favorite books from 2020 are coming soon! But in the meantime, please take a look at my favorite reads from previous years on the blog for some inspiration. I read really broadly, so the books that I loved tend to come from all different genres. Enjoy!
2019 Reading Statistics
In 2019 I participated in the Unread Shelf Challenge…sort of. I wanted to read 75 unread books that I already owned. I didn’t create a plan to accomplish this, and failed at it pretty miserably. But I otherwise had a pretty good reading year. Here are a few of my 2019 reading statistics.
Total Number of Books Read: 134
Total Number of Books Abandoned: 16
Of which 53 were audiobooks.
And 36 were books that I already owned.

Total Number of Unread Books Owned at Beginning of 2019: 375
(I’m not certain that this number is accurate. With my new Kindle Paperwhite, I can view how many unread Kindle e-books I own; whereas with my old Kindles, I had to rely on what I had organized in various collections. So I think that I was underestimating how many e-books I own.)
Total Number of Unread Books Owned at End of 2019: 633
Friday Five 11-29-2019
This is the forty-second installment in my sorta weekly series, called the Friday Five. In this series, I’ll tell you about five random things that I love, whether they be books, travel, music, movies…or whatever. So without further ado, 11-29-2019’s Friday Five!
1–Pumpkin Pie Crisp. Ooooh, yummy. I want to make this.
2–Bent Pyramid. Mike and I are going to Egypt in March. I think that a trip to the bent pyramid needs to be on the itinerary.
3–Holidays at Universal Studios. I previously wrote a series on visiting Universal Studios (see here, here, and here). I also found this holiday guide to visiting, which looked pretty cool too.
4–Nebraska’s Man-Made Forest. Did you know that Nebraska had a totally man-made forest? Read more here.
5–12 books you can finish on a plane. My friend Sierra shared this list with me. I’ve actually read some of them on an airplane before. And several others went on to my To Be Read List.
